Spring and the days are hotting up!

Well the days are getting longer, the trees bursting forth and even the fish have switched on and though we have not had any real monsters …(yet!) there ‘s enough sport to really shake off the old winter blues. Best pike this last week was this beautiful fifteen pound fish caught by James Gore on a deadbait fished fished in twenty feet of water. A great fight, cracking fish and a very happy angler. We have also had days of seven on the fly to twelve pounds and several good fish on static deads. On the river we have had some good trout as well as a couple of big out of season grayling and this next week we’ll go and have a look on the Eden for a spring salmon -there’s been some water and there are a few good springers about. After that we are off to Loch Awe again with a raft of kit, lots of flies and lures, shed loads of bait and six enthusiastic anglers. A total fishing week! I’ll let you know how we get on in due course…but till next time good luck with your fishing.
