Hello out there in Christmas Country. This is a very short little blog to say a BIG THANKS to all of you who have been out with us over the last rather different year and those already booked in for more fishy business in 2022. As always at this time of year we don’t get out much ( Yes it has been said that I do need to get out more!)  but it is the time for boat  repairs and family stuff.  The latest viral updates make more depressing listening and I’m looking forward to being  out on the water in spring and listening to birds and water instead. There might even be screaming reels as another monster pike comes to say hello.- Well it’s good to have a dream!

As usual at this time of year Andy Mac and I have been exploring Esthwaite and although no monster pike have come to see us yet, our Friday sessions are good therapy. The weather has been kind for a change and as we all know, the man who returns from a days fishing is usually a better man than the one who closed the door behind him in the half light of a winters morning,much earlier that day. But enough of that …I’ll be writing books next.

Which is a lead in for an advert! .. because Esthwaite gets a half chapter mention  in ‘Tales of a Lakeland Angler’ which is due out in Spring published by Medlar Press. I’ll let you know exactly when it is out but I hear it is available to reserve a copy direct from the Medlar Press web site.. Bedtime stories by Eric for anyone with an interest in Lake District fishing.

There’s a few changes and new faces coming this next year as well, but more of that in the New Year.
