Merry Christmas and a Happy and Peaceful New Year

Well it is that time of year when all is safely gathered in, the wood shed is more or less full, and the post man is weary. The boats are off the water, apart from the Doghouse waiting on Grasmere in case we have a mild spell tempting me out to scratch the fishing itch over the festive period, and it is the time for sitting and writing as sleet lashes the windows as the fells turn white, and the salmon are spawning in the beck at the bottom of our valley.

It is also the time to say thanks to all of those who have continued to support this mad cap venture over this and previous years. What started out as a hopeful alternative to working with disadvantaged youngsters has become a full time job and it is a great honour to be a part of so many folks angling adventures. Whilst we don’t always come up with the beast of dreams there are enough good fish come our way to make any angler happy. Although there are days when the weather turns against us and I feel an indoor job has its advantages, mostly I do have one of the best jobs in the world. And it is all down to you lot out there, so once again, Thanks to you all, have a great Christmas if you can, spare a thought and perhaps a crust for those less fortunate, and hopefully I will see you all next year.

I’m off to chop some more wood for the stove!

tarra and Best wishes,

Eric
